Overview
AmLaw 50 firm is seeking a Manager with expert knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of the litigation support process. The ideal candidate will have experience developing people and working effectively in a fast pace environment using sound independent judgment. This person will possess strong organizational and project management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate others are also required.

Responsibilities:
- Establish metrics to track department work levels, time to complete
tasks, financials, etc. and provide reports to the Director and case teams
as needed
- Work with department Director and other Litigation Support Managers to
identify best workflows, technologies and processes; lead the team in the
creation of documentation regarding same
- Assign cases to technical teams, modify workflow as cases progress, and
provide overall guidance and supervision to case managers and analysts
throughout matter
- Manage department’s case managers, with emphasis on training, skill
development and performance enhancement, and the provision of regular
guidance and advice regarding projects and best practices
- Work with vendors and case managers to establish matter budget estimates
and manage to those estimates
- Help case teams identify best vendors and platforms for particular
cases
- Consult with attorneys on eDiscovery process, including preservation and
collections, and develop department’s case managers so that they can
do the same
- Work with Director to create training programs and materials for the
attorneys
- Consult with attorneys in connection with Rule 26(f) conferences;
participate as needed on calls with other parties or government regulators
regarding eDiscovery, and develop case managers so they can do the same
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution.
Master’s Degree in a related field is a plus
- Minimum seven years experience in litigation support technology, at least
5 of which were spent in managing litigation support technology and staff
in a law firm
- Thorough knowledge of industry-standard litigation support applications
(Concordance,IPRO, LAW), eDiscovery processes, eDiscovery case law
developments, and emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Sufficient knowledge of IT to support excellent, defensible advice to
clients in the arena of preservations, legal holds, collections, and
processing
- Project management experience required; certification a plus
- Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve
solutions under tight deadlines
- Mastery of project management skills as they pertain to eDiscovery. This
includes a track record of managing eDiscovery projects of all sizes and
durations
- Proven ability to create lasting documentation, workflows, checklists,
and forms to provide overall guidance to the department, attorneys, and
clients
- Ability to communicate effectively with highly technical teams
- Experience managing a diverse internal team
- Flexibility regarding work schedule to meet position needs outside of
regular business hours
- Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests
quickly
