Overview

Prominent international law firm is seeking an experienced eDiscovery Project Manager for their Dallas office. This person will provide consultative, operational and technological support to the Firm’s lawyers for all stages of the e-Discovery process. The eDiscovery Project Manager will assist attorneys, legal assistants, and clients to define the operational and technical requirements related to the collection, processing, review and production of ESI in litigation matters

Responsibilities:

  • The e-Discovery Project Manager will be responsible for multiple projects concurrently and may have to work extended hours during projects.
  • The e-Discovery Project Manager will utilize the Firm’s litigation applications (See list below) and hosted applications to provide solutions to meet specific matter requirements
  • Must be able to competently manage, in coordination with the Firm’s lawyers, all phases of electronic discovery from collection to production of ESI.
  • Provide in-house e-Discovery litigation support to attorneys, legal assistants and clients utilizing the Firm’s Litigation Applications
  • Develop recommendations, plans, cost estimates, budgets, procedures and specification for case-specific e-Discovery projects
  • Facilitate development of project objectives, scope and work plans in conjunction with trial teams and other members of the e-Practice Department
  • Provide project management to the Firm’s lawyers that includes selection of e-Discovery vendors, project proposals, document production specifications, including recommendations on deduping, technical specifications when loading data to databases and tagging structure for document reviews.
  • The e-Discovery Project Manager must be able to act as a liaison between the Firm’s attorneys and e-Discovery vendors
  • Manage the process of obtaining bids for the cost of e-Discovery projects
  • Manage the work undertaken by vendors
  • Provide knowledgeable estimates of level of effort required for project and time necessary to complete all assignments
  • Provide quality control on all project deliverables
  • Maintain tracking logs of media, data, images and tasks
  • Assist and provide support for software updates and upgrades on litigation servers, databases and other technology rollouts
  • Provide on-demand training and assistance in regard to the operation of e-discovery review platforms
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel, including attorneys, paralegals and technical support personnel
  • Provide general user support for Litigation Applications
  • Set up and load projects into Litigation Applications
  • Execute a comprehensive data extraction or processing project to specific requirements utilizing Litigation Applications
  • Understand the Litigation Application environment and be able to adjust system configuration settings to achieve the best results based on project requirement
  • Be able to implement, demonstrate and utilize the appropriate QC processes Able to export processed data directly out of Litigation Application tool

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in law firm litigation support with advanced knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), e-discovery processes, technologies and litigation applications
  • Candidates should also have excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills
  • The Litigation Project Manager will utilize the Litigation Applications listed: eScan-IT Concordance
  • eCapture Ringtail IPRO MS Access, Excel iCapture Workpad, Textpad LAW Adobe Professional
  • The Project Manager must demonstrate competence with the functionality of the applications listed above
  • Ability to work within scheduling constraints in high pressure situations
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work overtime and travel when required
  • This position is in a critical needs area and needs to be on call and accessible by Blackberry or phone as well as the ability to arrive early, stay late and/or work weekends with little notice
